Perhaps more important than any one given skill, is the ability to keep yourself and others safe and alive, psychologically and physically.  When you’re miles from anything, the last thing you need is an injury (or worse) and not know what to do!

We have included this page to inform you of available programs we offer not only to help you in the wilderness, but to help those in your group and even your community.

LEVELS OF TRAINING offered:

Wilderness First Aid (WFA)- A wilderness first aid class is the perfect class for the person needing the basics to tend to common problems that arise out in the field. If you are a scout leader or small group leader this is the class for you. Boy Scout of America recognized and material being used from the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) you be ahead of the curve in dealing with your next medical emergency.  This 16 hour course will better prepare you for going afield.

Wilderness First Responder (WFR) – A wilderness first responder is trained to deal with many situations that may be encountered in the wilderness. The typical Wilderness First Responder Course involves 40 hours of training. Wilderness first responder training courses focus on teaching the students to assess a situation, improvise solutions using available resources to stabilize the patient and identify the best way to get the patient to definitive medical treatment. Those with the certification are usually referred to as “Woofers.”
